FAQS
Pre-Sales Questions
Simply put, cold process soap combines oils and sodium hydroxide (lye) and, in return, causes a chemical reaction called saponification. This process has been documented as far back as 2800BC where the Babylonians were the first to record the basic method.
For us, the essential benefit to My Beenoo soap is that nothing artificial is added to our products, including dyes, detergents, or fragrance oils. We feel all-natural is always better.
For us, it’s a labor of love and not necessarily what’s best for the bottom line. But, if I were to guess, most companies do not have the time or luxury to wait 4-6 weeks for the soap to cure, a necessity for making cold process soap.
Absolutely not.
The majority of our products are vegan. However, our lotion bars do contain beeswax and are not considered vegan.
Yes, we send samples when we ship out your order. Customer experience is near and dear to us, and we want you to use all senses, not just the visual one, when trying our product.
Our general rule is one month, one person, one soap, using our patent-pending Handstand system. The biggest drawback to cold process soap vs. big box detergent soaps is how both react to water. Natural soap tends to “mush” when drowned in water or exposed for too long. Our Handstand system solves that issue.
Our bath soaps are 3”x3”x1.5” and weigh in at over 7oz. Again, using our Handstand system, we are not worried about your soap turning into mush. As a result, we pass along this added benefit to our customers by giving you more soap! All soap is handcrafted; please keep in mind that each product is unique, and size and weight may vary nominally.
If soap is in use in conjunction with the Handstand, any place as long as it’s not underwater is perfectly fine. For unused soaps, please store them in a cool, dry area.
Visually, we made the plate white to easily tell when it is time to replace the soap on your handstand system. I like to push the receiving plate out of the soap and unscrew the plate from the Handstand. The rest of the soap is perfectly fine to use by itself or in a sisal bag.
Absolutely! However, we feel that for the best experience, using the Handstand is optimal. I liken it to eating spaghetti by hand or a fork, which do you prefer?
All wood is treated to withstand the elements of water. With that being said, nothing lasts forever. For the best experience, we recommend changing out the pine Handstand every three months and hardwood Handstands every six months.
Absolutely, the receiving plate is made of nylon and can be recycled.
